Young people from Hamp were involved with an intergenerational Tree Planting event in commemoration of World War One.
The event took place in Monkton Heathfield and it gave young people involved an insight and history about World War One and the impact it had.
Vicki-Lyn, Lead Worker at the Rec Youth & Community Centre, said ‘Intergenerational work like this is so valuable in bringing together differing people from within the community who may not usually have contact. It was really nice to hear elders of the community teaching young people about a history. We are keen to develop work like this and help young people be seen as socially responsible and engaged within their communities’.
