About Daycamps
Our Fantastic and newly updated daycamp site is the perfect setting for a fun-filled and memorable school holiday club for children in Reception – Year 6.*
Yew Trees are set within acres of Somerset scenery and It offers children the opportunity to explore the outdoors as well as developing new skills, and make lifelong friendships.
Our holiday programme includes a range of exciting themed multi-activity games designed around the outdoors and being active. Activities include; archery, climbing wall, canoeing, paddle boarding, Segways, multi-sport, Orienteering, craft… and much more!
* Please note, children must have completed at least one term at primary school before being able to attend YMCA Daycamps.

Week 1- (7th – 10th April) – Easter Fun
Easter Fun at Day Camps will provide children and young people with a lively and inclusive programme of seasonal activities designed to celebrate creativity, play, and togetherness. The week will include a mix of Easter-themed games, crafts, cooking activities, and outdoor challenges, encouraging participation, teamwork, and imagination.
Week 2 – 13th – 17th April) – Spring Fever
Celebrate the arrival of the new season through an energetic and engaging programme of outdoor-focused activities, creativity, and play. Children and young people will take part in nature-inspired crafts, team games, gardening activities, and spring-themed challenges that encourage exploration, movement, and curiosity. The programme is designed to boost confidence, promote physical activity, and support positive wellbeing while helping participants connect with the natural environment.
May Half-Term
(26th – 29th) – Natures playground
Nature’s Playground will invite children and young people to explore, play, and learn through hands-on experiences in the natural environment. The programme will include outdoor play, nature crafts, , and exploration games that encourage curiosity, creativity, and teamwork
Week 1 – 20th July – 24th July- Carnival of Sports
Carnival of Sports will offer children and young people an exciting and energetic programme packed with a wide variety of sports and physical activities. Throughout the week, participants will take part in fun team games, skill challenges, mini tournaments and creative sports-based activities designed to encourage teamwork, confidence, and enjoyment. The programme will celebrate movement, participation and friendly competition while giving everyone the chance to try new sports, develop skills and enjoy being active together.
Week 2 – 27th July – 31st July – Under the sea
This week at daycamps will take children and young people on an exciting ocean-themed adventure filled with creativity, and fun. Participants will explore marine life, ocean habitats, and underwater worlds through themed crafts, games, science activities, and storytelling. The programme encourages curiosity, teamwork, and imagination while supporting learning about the natural world in an engaging, hands-on way.
Week 3 – 3rd August – 7th August- Outdoor explorers
Outdoor Adventure week will provide children and young people with exciting, active experiences. Participants will take part in a range of outdoor activities such as nature trails, team challenges, den building, and problem-solving games, all designed to promote resilience, physical activity, and cooperation. Outdoor Adventure at Day Camps will offer a fun, energising experience that inspires curiosity and a love of the outdoors.
Week 4 – 10th August – 14th August – Animal Adventures
Animal Adventures will introduce children and young people to the exciting world of animals through fun, interactive, and educational activities. Participants will explore different animals and habitats through crafts, games, storytelling, and hands-on learning, encouraging curiosity, empathy, and respect for wildlife.
Week 5 – 17th August- 21st August – Farm To Fork.
Farm to Fork week will give children and young people a hands-on introduction to where food comes from and how it reaches our plates. Through planting, growing, and food-based activities, participants will explore the journey of food from soil to table while learning about healthy eating and sustainability.
Week 6 – 24th August – 28th August- Myths & Legends
Myths & Legends at Day Camps will immerse children and young people in a world of imagination, and adventures through creative arts, drama, games, and team challenges. Daycamps will provide an engaging and inclusive environment where imagination is celebrated, communication skills are strengthened, and young people are encouraged to express themselves in new and exciting ways.
Week 7– 1st September – 4th September- Future Innovators
Future Innovators will encourage children and young people to explore creativity, curiosity and problem-solving through engaging hands-on activities. Participants will design beginner-friendly robots, build imaginative structures, explore simple machines, and even launch mini rockets. Through colourful experiments, creative projects and fun team challenges that tackle real-world problems, the programme will inspire innovative thinking while building confidence, teamwork, and curiosity about how things work.

FAQ’S
The staff that make up the Day Camp team have several years’ experience with youth work and early years backgrounds as well as National Governing Body qualified instructors. All staff that work for YMCA Dulverton Group have been thoroughly trained and all hold up to date DBS and safeguarding certificates. There will a first aider on site at all times.
Yes, all children will require a packed lunch* and need to bring a refillable water bottle that they can fill at our water station throughout the day. We will also have two snack breaks during the day so something healthy to keep them going until lunch!
*Please avoid putting anything that may contain nuts into your child’s packed lunch, as we do have children who have nut allergies attending
No, there is no need for your child to have money.
No, all equipment needed will be provided by the YMCA and has been fully safety checked prior to use. We would strongly discourage anyone from bringing personal equipment to prevent any loss or damage occurring.
Below is a full list of what your child will need at Day Camp.
• Appropriate clothing for activities
• Coat
• Spare change of clothes
• Food and drink
• Hot days – sun cream, hat, plenty to drink
• Cold days – gloves, hat, coat
• Closed toe shoes such as trainers not flip flops
• We do not recommend wearing jewellery as most activities will require this to be removed for safety reasons.
• Mobile phones, iPods and other similar items are not recommended if brought they will need to be put in a safe place during activities, these are the responsibility of the owner.
Please ensure that all property has your child’s name on. In the event that your child has misplaced something, please see a team member at the end of the day.
Throughout the week, your child will be able to try a range of activities including Archery, Climbing and Boating as well as some super fun, different themed activities.
You can drop your child off at 8:30am and pick them up at 5pm each day. Throughout the school holidays, we offer Daycamps Monday-Friday except on Bank Holidays. Bookings are made by week and cost £175.
