Responsibilities include:

• Work within a small team in a supported housing project for young people and take an active part in ensuring the properties are safe and secure including ensuring the properties feel homely and welcoming.
• Engage with assessments of need to identify what support is best suited to that individual. This will include meetings with the individual and external support agencies involved with the individual.
• Build professional, trusting and respectful relationships with all residents living at the properties and your surrounding team.
• Approach the support you provide to be asset based at all times and holistic in its delivery. Encourage engagement with the service as well as providing positive activities to further enable growth and development of the individual.
• Support clients in identifying their needs and engaging with external or statutory services which will be able to assist them achieve these.
• Support clients in ensuring that they have access to everything they will need to progress through to independent living – Consideration of things such as (but not limited to) ID, Bank Accounts, Health Services and Specialist Agencies.
• Support clients in learning new life skills from within the property which will assist them in living independently and actively look externally for training and employment opportunities with the aspirations of the clients to be at the forefront at all times.

Skills and experience

• Able to demonstrate experience in building positive and professional relationships, with individuals you have supported in previous or current employment.
• Possess an understanding of the challenges and barriers affecting young people and which we work together with them to overcome and move on to independence.
• Have an understanding surrounding trauma informed, asset based and person-centred support delivery.
• Possess an understanding of the landscape of independent housing options and be able to demonstrate a solution focused response to these challenges.
• Consideration for innovative methods of positive engagement for hard to engage young people
• Demonstrate your knowledge of the local housing market and legislation connected to this plus the different options available to individuals and the routes of engagement.
• Have excellent organisational, administrative and IT skills
• Be self-motivated, confident and flexible in your approach and delivery.
• Have the ability to maintain clear and accurate digital and written records.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality record.
• Have a flexible attitude and willingness to adapt to new pressures.
• Will support the Christian ethos of the YMCA.
• Provide a professional, diplomatic and non-judgemental approach at all times.
• Be driven to influence and motivate people to make positive changes within their own lives

Whilst there are systems in place to support you, a substantial part of the role includes the ability to lone work. Therefore, we require someone competent and confident when working alone and somebody who is able to understand and work with complex and challenging behaviours’ appropriately.

Do you share a passion for creating real change for those who are vulnerable or have experienced homelessness? Through striving to ensure their move on to independence is safe and sustainable, the support you will provide will make a fundamental difference to the individuals we work with.

We are looking for experienced support workers with responsibilities for the following (but not limited too):

• Work from a supported housing project, providing housing and support to vulnerable adults, the majority of whom will have had a recent history of rough sleeping and the associated challenges that are connected to this.
• Carry out and/or contribute to assessments of need to identify what support is best suited to that individual and any concerns to be aware of from the beginning of their placement.
• Build professional, trusting and respectful relationships with all residents living at the property, external clients and your surrounding team.
• Ensure the support you provide to be asset based at all times and holistic in its delivery.
• Support clients in finding and engaging with external or statutory services that will be able to assist them with their needs and future development.
• Support clients in ensuring that they have access to everything they will need to progress through to independent living such as ID’s, bank accounts, health services and specialists.
• Support clients in learning new life skills from within the property which will assist them in living independently
• Actively support the aspirations of the clients through assisting them with external training and employment opportunities.
• Support clients in understanding their behaviours, on and off site, and the impact and consequences this can have on others.
• Confidently design and lead on group sessions for all residents within the property such as cooking and gardening.
• Provide structured weekly support sessions, identifying time bound actions for the resident to ensure traction on progression.
• Encourage, motive and enable your residents own their next steps and progression with moving on to their own accommodation.
• Maintain clear and professional boundaries with all contacts and promote the concept of independence, not dependence, through the support you provide.
• Take an active role in meetings and activities with groups of resident, colleagues, partners, and contribute positively to the development of this service.
• Maintain accurate support files and record keeping for the resident’s journey through to independent living, and create and submit reports on progression as required.
• Monitor, review and continuously update the ‘keeping safe plan’ for each resident within provision.

Overview

As part of a team you will be delivering youth work provision in Cullompton and tasked to facilitate a safe, welcoming and supportive space for children and young people and to provide each individual the opportunity to belong, contribute and thrive.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Interact and communicate with young people establishing appropriate relationships to safeguard and ensure good standards of support, provision and behaviour;
• Actively seek opportunities for young people to volunteer and engage in their work and environment;

General information:

The primary objective of this role is to pick up, drive and deliver nursery meals to the various nurseries across our provision. The role-holder must be able to drive and hold a full and clean UK drivers’ licence.

Hours of Work:

10 hours per week. Working hours may be subject to review according to the needs of the service and future endeavours.
Typical shifts are;
• 11.00am-1.00pm
• Monday to Friday

Key responsibilities:

• Drive and deliver meals – a company vehicle will be provided from site each day for the duration of the deliveries.
• Assist with the recording of food temperatures to ensure all food arrives and is served at the correct temperatures across all our sites.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene at all times
• Liaise with all sites to ensure effective communication
