YMCA Weston-super-Mare, which is part of the YMCA Dulverton Group, has run a project for assisting and supporting rough sleepers within North Somerset for over 4 years. The role of the Rough Sleeper Outreach Worker is to support those who have been unable to sustain accommodation through the “Everyone In” scheme and have returned to rough sleeping as well as those who are new to rough sleeping, assessing their needs to provide them with a variety of options of support and assisting them to navigate these options.

This will involve removing barriers to services, and supporting the client to move along a positive pathway which is suited to their needs.

The Rough Sleeper Outreach Worker role will involve working very closely alongside external agencies and with North Somerset Council’s Homeless Prevention Team.

This post is being fully funded and supported by North Somerset Council.
