An exciting job opportunity has arisen within our Out of School club PAWS. We are looking for a lead practitioner who will be able to ensure the continuation of quality care and drive the development of the setting moving forward into the next academic year.

This post will be considered on either a part time, term-time or full-time basis. PAWS operate a breakfast and afterschool club from Wrington School in which the Leader would need to be present. Additional hours can be used to support our Nursery settings, should the candidate wish to take up employment on a full time all year-round basis.

This position is a newly adapted role which will be supporting young people living in YMCA accommodation as well as young people living in the community. The role covers the Sedgemoor area. You will share the case load for floating support with an equivalent post, supporting one another in absence.

Creating professional, positive and trusting relationships will be key to working together with every young person we support in overcoming the barriers which they face.

Training & Education

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (includes evenings and weekends on a rota basis)

Salary: £21,560.75 per annum.

YMCA Dulverton Group deliver three different tenancy training schemes across Somerset. All schemes are designed to be delivered to anyone over the age of 16, and equip the client with the knowledge that they need to attain and sustain independent accommodation. Some of our delivery is for those within supported accommodation to equip individuals with the skills to live independently and whilst other delivery is catered to those within their own accommodation at the start of a tenancy or should a tenancy be at risk.

The post holder will work with many local agencies to deliver the schemes in a variety of forms such as front facing group courses, one to one sessions and phone call support to clients across Sedgemoor and Somerset West and Taunton.  The postholder is responsible for delivering an effective, quality service to clients, and ensuring that positive working relationships are maintained with our funders of the scheme.

Social Enterprise

Salary: £23,800 per annum

The Night Porter role will see you working right through the small hours – but there are few overnight jobs as fulfilling as this one. Your presence on site overnight is a great reassurance to our guests, and you’ll take great pride in keeping things running smoothly while they sleep. During the night, you’ll be on hand to tend to the needs of guests and respond to any incidents. This role will provide the opportunity to significantly contribute to our guest’s first impressions and final memories of the hotel.

Youth Work

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: £21,352.50

Would you like to work as part of a team providing a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment, with open access and planned delivery for children and young people aged 10 – 18. Develop and lead projects with and for children young people based on identified needs within the catchment area of N Somerset and the wider YMCA Dulverton Group area.

Engage young people, children and families in activities that is stimulating, challenging and fun. Assist in the development of tools to capture and measure the impact of good quality youth work. Be flexible in their work schedule to meet young people’s needs after school, in the evenings, weekends and during school holidays.
