Julia Donaldson’s infamous Gruffalo and Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit were just some of the beloved books that joined our nurseries settings for this year’s World Book Day.

Children at our nursery and preschool settings shared their favourite stories and took part in themed activities, whilst dressing up as their favourite character or in their snuggly pyjamas.

The story-filled day, which aims to honour stories and encourage a lasting love of reading, was enjoyed by all children and staff.

Here at YMCA we understand that story telling is not only brilliant for capturing the imagination, but essential for, building literacy confidence, aiding language development and helping us to understand emotions.
