The Hub is the base for the following areas of work of YMCA Dulverton Group, however also regularly holds drop in’s for other services which may be of interest- More information Below.

Training and Education
So many people have benefited by attending our weekly Job Club, with further individual appointments offered to everyone to support their search for suitable employment. We provide support with writing CV’S, enhancing employability skills, and applying for further training and education placements- including college and university courses. We will help with referrals for young people into Traineeships, English, Maths and Functional Skills and will tailor all guidance around the individual we are supporting.

Floating Support
At YMCA DG we recognise that at times living independently can be daunting and very overwhelming. We offer a housing floating support service for those aged between 16-25 who are struggling within their accommodation and would benefit from some additional support. The floating support worker will be able to offer appointments dependent on what needs the individual has, and also able to help you access other services which may be of a benefit to you.

Nightstop Emergency Accommodation
A fantastic scheme which provides emergency accommodation for some young people in a family home environment. Working alongside our Housing Hub Enabler, our Nightstop team are able to match the needs of the young person to our marvellous Nightstop hosts. Our nightstop hosts provide a warm and safe place for someone to stay up to 7 nights per week, whilst professionals are working on a long term housing solution for them.
All nightstop hosts are volunteers and we provide full training and continuous support to the hosts and the young people we place. In the last 3 months we have welcomed 2 new hosts and been able to help 5 young people who were in need of accommodation. We are so grateful to the work our hosts do and Routes is a great space to come and learn more about this service should you be interested.

Tenant Ready Scheme
Our housing tenancy training scheme, accessible for anyone over the age of 16, operates group sessions from the Hub every week. These sessions provide knowledge and information around the local rental housing market, expectations of landlords including financial implications and the rights of the tenants. Our Tenant Ready Scheme manager can work with up to 10 young people a week from the Routes Hub, offering advice , education and guidance relating to finding and sustaining independent accommodation. We are also able to assist with any Homefinder enquiries at our Friday weekly drop in session.

Somerset West Lodging Scheme:
Covering the areas of Taunton, West Somerset and Sedgemoor, Somerset West Lodging scheme is all about making best use of spare rooms, to provide good quality safe and affordable accommodation to the general public. Since 2019 the Lodging Scheme have received numerous referrals for those who are interested in becoming a Lodger, and the Lodging Scheme Manger will provide support to both the Lodger and the Landlord throughout the process. The Hub is a great space for Landlords within the scheme and prospective Lodgers to meet and learn more about what this service can offer them, with a window display advertising the available properties within the Lodging Scheme areas.
