We are looking for an experienced Deputy Accommodation and Support Manager. This is a  new role to lead our Taunton team of Accommodation and Support Enablers who, between them, house, guide support and motivate around 45 young people, all aged between 16 and 25.

Our teams take an asset based approach to actively encourage positive progression for all the individuals we work alongside. Creating professional, positive and trusting relationships is key to working with every resident in overcoming the barriers which they face whilst they make steps to move on to their independence.

As a service we provide a safe and welcoming environment for the individuals we support with their aspirations and desires at the forefront of the support we offer.

Overall we seek to encourage and enable everyone we support to become empowered by providing opportunities for progressive change. This can be challenging yet rewarding work that helps individuals to belong, contribute and thrive.

The successful applicant will have lead responsibility for the Taunton service including the management and motivation of a small staff team, ensuring excellent service quality, preparing statistical and other reports, working directly with residents and maintaining high standards of record keeping. Some weekend and rota working will be required.

If you enjoy being around children and helping them learn, then this is your chance to earn whilst you train. Topics you will study include child and young person development, safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, supporting positive behaviour, partnership working in services for children and young people, health and safety, supporting positive environments, child development, practical care, planning and implementing activities, and observation.

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week (20% off the job training at Weston College and other venues)

Salary: £4.70 per hour for first six months
