We require a confident, enthusiastic apprentice to join the Barley Wood team. Hours equate to 37.5 hours a week. Working pattern will vary depending on the needs of the business with some evening and weekend work essential.

The individual will deliver excellent customer service for a wide variety of events including weddings and conferences. To assist with planning and coordinating the function from start to finish. Ensuring the venue is presented to a high standard including all nine bedrooms. General food preparation and service of refreshments. Some office duties including answering the phone and typing meeting notes.

Salary:  First 6 months – £4.70 per hour
6 months to 1 year – £5.20 per hour
1 year to the end of the apprenticeship – Minimum wage for age

Responsible for produce stock control.

To carry out cleaning and close down procedures in line with company policy, thereby ensuring quality control measures and hygiene systems are achieved at all times, and ensure all staff in your absence follow these OPs

To maintain all equipment within the catering operation through due care and diligence to maximise the longevity of equipment.

Ensure the company’s Health and Safety Policy is fully promoted and arrangements have been made to carry out the policy.

Responsibilities will include:

To ensure that standards are achieved and internal operations are performed in an effective and efficient manner.

Contribute to guest comfort and ensure daily cleaning and tidying of all hotel bedrooms and public areas.

To monitor the financial performance of the Housekeeping department operation and the efficient of the linen service.

To monitor and order cleaning equipment, as and when required.

To liaise with management with regard to larger cleaning schedules and ordering of equipment, to ensure we keep up the standard required for our clients.

To co-ordinate the distribution of tasks amongst housekeeping team to ensure that work progresses as it should within the time available.

To provide a polite and courteous service to visitors at The Beach Hotel.
