Day to day operational responsibilities for the running of YMCA Dulverton Group are delegated to the senior management team.
The team is headed by our Chief Executive, six further directors and over 140 staff.
Martin spent much of his early career managing outdoor activity centres across the south of England, then studied at Bath University to become a teacher of Geography and Religious Studies. Having then taught in Southampton for 5 years, he moved to the YMCA Fairthorne Group where he was operations manager until 2007. Since then he has been the CEO of YMCA Dulverton Group overseeing its growth and increased impact across the communities it serves.
Jonica started her career in sales, and returned to studying in 2008, graduating with a degree in Education. Following this she spent several years working in a school, with students who needed extra support or found the school environment challenging. In 2014 Jonica joined the team at YMCA Dulverton Group and oversees several different elements of our work, alongside the internal training and education deliverer.
Kevin previously worked for Weston-super-Mare Town Council where he completed his Youth Work degree whilst managing their youth services. He then moved over to YMCA Dulverton Group in 2013 to continue the delivery of the youth services in partnership with the Town Council. Since joining YMCA Dulverton Group he has been involved in a wide variety of work and new projects extending the reach and services from YMCA W-s-M and then in turn other North Somerset sites. He has worked with the teams to get all three work strands operating successfully at Barley Wood and is now the Director for Early Years and Communities.
Georgina joined YMCA Dulverton Group in 2011, initially to cover maternity leave. Since that time her role has expanded to include risk management, Human Resources and the maintenance of the YMCA’s assets. Georgina’s background includes a variety of roles in the Charity sector, with specialisms in Business Administration and Human Resources.
Ruth started her career in practice, later moving to financial software training and then to Clarks International, performing financial and commercial accounting roles. Managing finance teams, she specialised in property management, acquisitions and divestments, project management and VAT. She is now the Business and Finance Director for YMCA Dulverton Group.
Dave has spent much of his early career working with challenging young people through outdoor education as well as managing centres. He has also led expeditions all over the world, taking youngsters to continents including Africa, Asia and Central / South America. Before joining us, he spent several years as an outdoor education advisor to Somerset County Council and the County Sports Partnership. He is also a published author writing books on Leadership and Team Dynamics. He joined the YMCA in 2013 to lead in our Social Enterprise delivery.
Andrew initially worked in the insurance sector in Bristol and then for the Dickinson Robinson Group selling flexible packaging. Andrew had the opportunity to participate Rotary International sponsored outdoor residential for disadvantaged young people. He started a part-time position, as a Youth Worker for North Somerset Council Youth Service, as a result.
Andrew joined the YMCA at Bridgwater in 2003, as a Youth Worker, encouraging young people to progress and develop to reach their full potential. He became a qualified Youth Worker, through YMCA George Williams College in 2007. He transferred to the housing side of the YMCA in 2006.
